Paper Submission

Final camera-ready papers due June 1, 2006 (including document source files and figures)

For final papers please make sure of the following:

Use the correct template (single column book format, 18 pages max)
Sign and fax a Copyright Publishing Agreement
Submit camera-ready PDF along with original source of document (LaTeX source or Word document) and images used for figures

Paper submissions will be accepted PDF format only. All fonts need to be embedded. See instructions below.

Paper Format Requirements:

Papers should have original and significant contribution in order to be accepted. Each accepted paper will be given a 25 minute presentation slot at the meeting. Accepted papers by authors who register to attend the conference will be published in the proceedings and will also be available on CD and on the IMR website. The proceedings are printed in black and white.

Papers should be limited to 18 pages in length and received by April 17, 2006. Only PDF files will be accepted for paper submission. Final camera-ready papers not meeting formatting guidelines will not be accepted for publication in the proceedings. Camera-ready and source documents are due by June 1, 2006.

Authors submitting papers will be notified of a decision on acceptance no later than May 12, 2006. Authors of accepted papers may submit updated papers through this webiste.

Formatted Template Files for Acceptable Final Drafts:

Untar it where you like on your system: tar -xvf author-TeX.tar
At this point, there are 2 possibilites:
either read the detailed PDF documentation included, or
use the author-pdf.tex sample file as a template
compile the document with pdflatex
Note: figures should be made (or exported) into PDF format. Utilities such as gimp, epstopdf, etc., shall be used to convert figures that are not initially in PDF format.

PDF Conversion Instructions:

Converting to PDF and Embedding Fonts:

Once the paper is prepared please convert the paper to PDF format. All papers must be submitted in electronic form via the web. Only PDF files will be accepted. Embed all fonts in the final PDF file.

If using Adobe Distiller:

From the Distiller menu, click the "Properties" button
Choose the "Adobe PDF Settings" tab
Conversion settings select "Press"
Click button "Edit Conversion Settings"
Choose the Font tab
Select "Embed all Fonts"

If converting to PDF using Microsoft Word 2000:

From File menu, choose "print"
Change Destination from "Printer" to "File" (located top right of General dialog box)
From General, go to "Save as File"
Change "Format" to "Acrobat PDF"
Select "Embed All Fonts"
Make "Downsample" settings is set for at least 72 dpi
Click "SAVE"

If you have a newer version of Microsoft Word you will need to have the full version of Adobe Acrobat or some other conversion software to convert your Word document to PDF.
