Poster Session Information

Poster Session

Registration for the Poster Session can be done on Monday or Tuesday at the registration table. The poster session will feature two categories of posters:

  1. Demonstrations of meshes from which the Meshing Maestro award is selected. The mesh may be based on the model used in the Meshing Contest or a model of your own choice.

  2. Technical exhibits of current research in mesh and grid generation.

From the first category, the annual Meshing Maestro is selected by attendees of the poster session. The winner has the opportunity to have their design used for next year's conference tee shirt. The primary criterion used by the peer review for the Meshing Maestro award is based on the aesthetic appeal of the mesh. Therefore, in this category, we solicit posters that emphasize striking visuals with few technical details.

The second category, Best Technical Poster, is an ideal forum for authors who would prefer not to submit a formal technical paper, but would like to illustrate state-of-the-art techniques and procedures in which they are currently involved. Session speakers are also invited to display practical results of their work at the poster session. The conference organizing committee will select winners from this category for the best technical and best student posters taking into consideration voting ballots received from conference attendees.

To participate in the poster session, you must be attending the conference.

Call for Posters

The posters are sought for the 26th International Meshing Roundtable (26th IMR), September 18 - 21, 2017, in Barcelona, Spain.

Technical posters are ideal showcases for authors to present state-of-the-art techniques and procedures, innovative contributions, high-impact and preliminary results, on-going research projects, and practical applications.

Topics related to technologies and applications of mesh generation in various areas are all appropriate. Potential topics include but not limited to: meshing algorithms, mesh modelling, geometry processing, visualization, and mesh adaptation for numerical simulations.

Authors who have already submitted a technical paper are encouraged to submit a poster as well.

All poster submissions will be reviewed by the 26th IMR committee members. Accepted posters will be displayed throughout the conference days for presenters to discuss their work with attendees. There will be organized sessions during the conference for the presenters to introduce their posters and will be reviewed and judged by the attendees of the conference. They will be also available through the 26th IMR's website.

Quality

Technical posters should contain significant technical details, not just pictures, for the described methods and results. A list of guidelines for preparing posters is given below.

Awards

The “Meshing Maestro” and the “Best Technical Poster Award” will be given. All posters will be evaluated and voted by the attendees. The voting ballots will ask for the preferred 1st and 2nd poster in each category.

Submission Details

Poster session submission details will be posted soon
